Contact
Write to hello@blurmyphoto.com. A real address, read by a person.
Why there is no contact form
A form has to send what you type to a server. This site does not have one — that is the entire premise, and it is why your photographs never leave your device. Adding a form would mean adding a backend, which would mean the sentence in our footer stopped being true in the strict sense we intend it. An email address does the same job without any of that.
Please do not attach the photo
If you are writing about a file that will not open or a result that looked wrong, we understand the instinct to attach it. Please do not.
We do not want your photograph, we have nowhere to put it, and sending it to us undoes the reason you came here. Sending it by email is a genuine disclosure to a mail provider, to us, and to our backups.
Tell us about it instead. That is almost always enough:
- The device and browser, with versions if you can find them — "iPhone 14, Safari, iOS 18" is perfect
- The file format and roughly how large the file is
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead
- Any message the page showed you, quoted exactly
If we genuinely cannot reproduce a problem without a sample, we will ask — and we will ask for a file that does not matter to you, not the one you were trying to redact.
What we can help with
- A bug, or a file the tool refuses to open
- A format you need that we do not currently accept
- A factual correction to any guide or article — these are genuinely welcome, and we make them
- Accessibility problems. If something here does not work with a screen reader, a keyboard, or magnification, we want to know and we will fix it.
- Press and licensing questions
What we cannot help with
- Recovering an image you have already published. Once a file is out, it is out. We have no ability to reach it and neither does anyone else.
- Identifying who is in a photograph, or un-blurring anything. We do not do this and would not.
- Legal advice on your situation. Our guides explain how the rules generally work; they are not advice and we are not lawyers.
- Recovering your work after closing the tab. Nothing is stored — deliberately — so there is nothing to restore.
How long we take
This is a small project, not a support desk, and messages are answered by a person around other work. Most get a reply within a few days. Bug reports with enough detail to reproduce the problem get looked at fastest, because they can be acted on immediately. We would rather tell you that honestly than publish a response time we cannot keep.
Corrections
If a guide on this site states something that is wrong, out of date, or misleading, please say so and point at the sentence. Accuracy is the only thing that makes the writing here worth reading, and a correction from someone who knows a subject better than we do is a favour, not a complaint. There is more about how the site is run and funded on the about page.
